Members Of Lone Oak UMC Hospitality Team Greet Everyone At The Door Before Worship

Everyone is welcome!

If you are considering worshiping with us, you can find out more about what to expect below. We look forward to meeting you!

Welcome to Lone Oak United Methodist Church of Paducah, Kentucky. Our building is located just south of Lone Oak on Highway 45. Just look for the pretty white church on the hill. Worship begins each Sunday at 10:30am, but feel free to come at 9:15am for coffee, donuts, and a choice of Sunday School classes for every age and personality. We hope you will visit with us soon!

As United Methodists, we believe that extending the care of Christ to everyone is key to living as Jesus expects. This desire to include should be deeply-rooted in us, emanating from the inclusion we’ve received from God. As such, Lone Oak strives for radical hospitality in the ways we welcome, receive, and nurture guests and members alike. Some of the ways we do so include:

Attire: We truly believe people should come to God as they are; you don’t need to dress up to get God’s approval. You’ll find that our congregation has all types of people in all kinds of attire.  Jeans are as welcome as suits, and you’ll see both. *Masks: Majority of our congregation is fully vaccinated, for that reason, we no longer require masks to be worn during service. Those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask are encouraged to do so. Those who wish to remain socially distant at this time may collect a red wristband at the entrance table.

Visitor and Accessible Parking: We want you to feel welcomed from the moment you decide to worship with us, we have designated parking for visitors and persons who are differently-abled in parking spaces near our front door. If you’re visiting with us, please help yourself to one of these spaces!

Greeters: Members of our congregation will meet you at the front door on Sunday mornings with a smile and handshake! They can assist you with finding your way around the building and provide other helpful information. To create a warm and friendly atmosphere, our members and those who attend regularly wear nametags. This way even first-time guests can put a name to a face!

Coffee & Donuts: Every Sunday morning, you’ll find hot coffee and fresh donuts to enjoy in our entryway, alongside casual conversation with others who have gathered. Small bottles of water and boxes of juice are also available.

Children: Little ones are welcome in any of our gatherings! However, if nursery care is needed, we have a fully-functional space with nursery attendants available during our services and for all of our functions. Children ages 3 - 5th grade are welcome to Children's Church. As you enter the sanctuary, kids can pick up an activity bag which contains crayons and books for young children to use during worship.

Seating: We understand choosing a seat in a new enviornment may be overwhelming, please sit wherever you are comfortable.

After Service: Our pastor will be ready to greet the congregation as you leave the sanctuary. We hope you will stay and enjoy our welcoming atmosphere.
